Welcome to ACT Acoustics Ltd. We are glad you have joined the team.

This handbook sets out how we work, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. It covers everything from day-to-day practicalities to your rights and responsibilities under UK employment law. Please read it carefully and keep it for reference.

If anything is unclear, speak to Mike Wood (Director) or raise it at a team meeting. We are a small company and we would rather answer a question than have someone guess.

Our Mission

ACT Acoustics provides independent acoustic consultancy — noise impact assessments, sound insulation testing, vibration monitoring, and environmental noise management — helping clients navigate planning and building regulations.

We do honest, technically sound work. We give clients clear advice based on measured data, not opinion. We treat every project, whether it is a single sound test or a large environmental noise assessment, with the same professional care.

Status of This Handbook

Unless a section is marked “contractual”, the policies in this handbook are non-contractual. That means the company can update them from time to time to reflect changes in law, best practice, or the way we work. We will tell you about significant changes and give you a reasonable chance to read them.

Where this handbook refers to terms that also appear in your contract of employment, the contract takes precedence in the event of any conflict.
