About ACT Acoustics
Who We Are
ACT Acoustics Ltd. is a specialist acoustic consultancy based in Exeter, Devon. Our primary operating area is the South West of England, where most of our project and site work is carried out; we also take on work further afield. We provide services to developers, architects, local authorities, and private clients.
Our core services include:
- Environmental noise assessments — for planning applications and development projects
- Sound insulation testing — pre-completion testing under Part E of the Building Regulations
- Vibration monitoring — construction vibration, rail, and road traffic
- Noise management plans — for construction sites and events
- Expert witness and planning inquiry support
How We Work
We are a small, home-based consultancy. Most of our day-to-day work is done remotely, with regular visits to client sites, construction sites, and occasionally local authority offices.
This means you need to be comfortable working independently, managing your own time, and communicating clearly with colleagues and clients — often by phone and email rather than face-to-face.
