Chapter 17
Standards of Conduct
(Non-contractual policy.)
General Expectations
We are a small team and our reputation depends on the professionalism and integrity of every person in the company. We expect you to:
- Carry out your work competently and diligently.
- Be reliable — meet deadlines, turn up when expected, and communicate promptly if plans change.
- Treat colleagues, clients, contractors, and members of the public with courtesy and respect.
- Represent the company professionally at all times, whether on a client site, at a meeting, or in written communications.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
Professional Conduct on Client Sites
When you are on a client or construction site, you are representing ACT Acoustics. You should:
- Be punctual and prepared.
- Dress appropriately for the site (PPE as required, otherwise smart-casual).
- Be courteous and professional with site staff, clients, and members of the public.
- Not express personal opinions on the merits of a planning application or development — our role is to provide objective technical evidence.
- Not discuss commercially sensitive information about one client with another.
Social Media
If you use social media (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, etc.) and are identifiable as an ACT Acoustics employee, remember that your posts may reflect on the company. Use common sense:
- Do not share confidential company or client information.
- Do not make statements that could damage the company’s reputation.
- Make clear that personal views are your own, not the company’s.
Alcohol and Drugs
You must not be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs while at work or on a client site. If you are taking prescription medication that may affect your ability to work safely, tell Mike Wood in confidence so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
If you have a problem with alcohol or drugs, we encourage you to seek help. The company will support you where it can, but safety on site and the quality of our work cannot be compromised.
