Chapter 18

Leaving the Company

Resignation

If you wish to resign, please give your notice in writing (email is fine) to Mike Wood. Your notice period is set out in your contract of employment and summarised in Employment Terms.

What Happens During Your Notice Period

During your notice period:

  • You will be expected to continue working normally unless agreed otherwise.
  • You should complete or hand over all outstanding work.
  • The company may, at its discretion, require you to take any remaining holiday during your notice period.
  • The company may, at its discretion, place you on garden leave (requiring you to stay away from work while still employed and paid).

Return of Company Property

On or before your last day, you must return all company property, including:

  • Laptop and charger.
  • Sound level meters, vibration meters, and other equipment.
  • PPE.
  • Keys, access cards, and ID badges.
  • Documents, files, and data (whether in paper or electronic form) belonging to the company.

You must delete any company data from personal devices.

Final Pay

Your final pay will include:

  • Salary up to and including your last day of employment.
  • Payment for any accrued but untaken holiday.
  • Less any deductions for holiday taken in excess of your pro-rata entitlement.
  • Less any other agreed deductions (for example, under a training agreement).

Your P45 will be issued after your final pay has been processed.

References

The company will provide a factual reference on request, confirming your dates of employment and job title. Any more detailed reference will be provided at the company’s discretion.

Retirement

There is no compulsory retirement age at ACT Acoustics. If you are thinking about retirement, we encourage you to discuss your plans with Mike Wood in good time so we can plan for the transition.
